GET YOUR FLU SHOT AND GET IT NOW!!
There is a concern that the onset of flu season combined with Covid-19 cases could overwhelm hospitals and cause new shortages of resources and PPE.
Though a Covid-19 vaccine is not yet available, the life-saving flu vaccine is available for almost all people 6 months of age and older. Contrary to what some people have come to believe, the flu vaccine does not cause the flu! The flu vaccine takes about 2 weeks to become fully protective. If a person has flu symptoms soon after being immunized, it may be a different virus, or he/she could have been exposed to the flu prior to receiving the shot.
Usually October is the best time to get a flu shot, but with the current pandemic, get your flu shot as soon as you can!
