Summer’s winding down and school is just around the corner. With all the excitement of new teachers, new classes maybe even a new school, don’t forget to check off the following items that may pertain to your allergic or asthmatic child:
Prepare an Anaphylaxis Action Plan – and make sure your Epipen hasn’t expired!
Have an Asthma Action Plan – know what symptoms to recognize and the proper response.
Create a Food Allergy Statement & Action Plan – it’s best to develop a written plan with school staff and to learn how students with food allergies are kept safe.
Make sure all immunizations are up to date.
Kids with allergies or asthma will also benefit from getting back into a good sleep schedule and learning healthy food choices so their nutritional needs are met and ready to power their brains and bodies into the new school year!
